Creating Collaborative Care (C3) is a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) focused on interprofessional education (IPE). National recommendations, including those from the Institute of Medicine, call for IPE in health professions training to improve health care quality and reduce medical errors. IPE occurs when learners from two or more professions learn about, from, and with each other for the purposes of improving health care.
C3 offers MUSC students a continuum of knowledge- and skill-building experiences so they can become effective interprofessional collaborators in health care delivery or translational research. For faculty, C3 offers interprofessional development opportunities, so they can teach and role model effective interprofessional collaboration.
